The fabulous and amazing world of Amelie Poulain

Can really a movie change your life?

I think so. Going to the cinema can be the best therapy for the soul. We sit on a comfortable chair, our breath slows down and as the lights are switched off, we enter a dream world and seek to escape from our normal world full of problems for a short period of time, to experience something totally different. Then we want to find ourselves in this world.

Thanks to Amelie I had a special and wonderful dream I will never forget.

The French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet directed masterfully this fantastic dream in 2001. A brilliant movie full of comedy and romance that tells the story of Amelie Poulain: an innocent, imaginative and naive young woman in Paris.

A day, suddenly, she with her own sense of justice, decides to spend the rest of her life doing good deeds -sometimes in a surrealist way-  to those who deserve it. Finally, following her new way, she discovers true love.

In my opinion, Amelie could be considered as a masterpiece. Without a doubt, it is an outstanding film in film history: its cinematography, the music, the fantastic and original script and, above all, the dreamlike atmosphere created are features that can't be forgotten easily, for its incredible creativity  and perfection.

It's almost as if you're watching the movie through a dream. Personally, I think it has one of the best cinematographies made in film.

On the other hand, Audrey Tautou -as Amelie- is an amazing actress. I really can't imagine anybody doing the job better than she did. To me she isn't only giving life to the character in the movie, she lives it.

As a drawback, maybe for most people the introduction can be a bit long, however, I enjoy every second of it.

Finally, I very rarely give movies a 10. It has my 10. This is one of those movies that leave you in a good mood after you watch it, and with it you can discover we only need the simplest things to keep ourselves happy. I highly recommend it, since it is not only magical because of the cinematography, the special effects or the camerawork, but for its awesome story, fantasy, humour and emotion. It turns out to be a captivating  dream. Definitely, everyone should be a bit like Amelie Poulain, I'm sure the world would be much better.
